農曆 1 月 15 日元宵節也叫 " 燈節 " 或 " 上元節 “，一般稱為「小過年」，在眾多節慶中，元宵節熱鬧的程度僅次於農曆 1 月 1 日的春節，因為元宵節是過年的最後一天，過了這天後一切作息將恢復常態，因此民間會舉辦許多慶祝活動。
舞蹈描述：1 月 15 元宵節的夜晚，在夜中蟋蟀的鳴叫聲，劃破寂靜的夜幕，少女們提著燈籠，參與廟口前的各項遊藝會，五顏六色的燈籠和歡樂的節慶相互輝映，十分熱鬧。
The Lantern Dance
Han Chinese in Taiwan celebrates their Lunar New Year from day one to day fifteen. The last day– January fifteenth in the lunar calendar– is called the “Lantern Festival”, also known as the “Feast of Lanterns”. At that day, people will eat Tang Yuan (stuffed dumplings), guess riddles written on lanterns, and let off fireworks. Among all these celebration activities, the most important one is to take your own lantern and walk around in order to appreciate others’ lanterns while they appreciate yours. Moreover, streets will be decorated with all kinds of stylish lanterns and full of joyful atmosphere.
Story of the dance: The night of the “Lantern Festival”, cricket’s chirping breaks the silent night. Young ladies carry their lanterns to the festival, hearts filled with curiosity and excitement.

Les Chinois à Taiwan fête son Nouvel An lunaire à partir le premier jour à quinzième jours. Le dernier jour – la nuit 15 janvier du calendrier lunaire – est appelé la “Fête des lanternes".
